Yuck! Round worms?

Well our little ol' Scout has been a bit sick for a few days and it so happens that it's time for her annual check up and vaccinations, so we took her in today. The fecal test found that she has a case of round worms. Ewwww! The vet thinks she picked it up 3-4 weeks ago which puts us right about the time of our first and so far only visit to the Houston Dog Park. She also said that it's common for dogs to get roundworm and that's why a de-worming is part of the annual vaccinations. Poor little baby. :-( As a precaution, we also got some de-worming medication for Teeny.

Anniversaries All Around

We got little ol' Scouty from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter exactly one year ago today! She is such a great dog. I guess I can't really say little ol' since she's almost 60 pounds now.

It's also our monthly anniversay, so we went out to dinner at Escalante's. I still must say that it's the best place to go for beef fajitas in Houston. I've only had beef fajitas at 2 other places, but this one tops those. We also love their homemade tortillas.

Cowboy on Freeway

Saw another cowboy riding down the grassy median of the freeway. I just gotta get a picture of that some time.

Registered for Class

Yay! Today I went to campus and finished my admissions process. I wanted to make sure that I could take the C# class even though it had prerequisites, so I asked the admissions staff if I could go ahead and sign up for it or would I need to talk to someone about clearing the prerequisite. Basically she said, "Honey, you have a Bachelor's degree. You can take any class you want." Cool!

Good thing also that I had a sealed transcript from UCSD. I ordered 2 back in 1997, I'm not sure what the purpose was, but I remember ordering an extra one just in case I ever needed it and the need finally arrived. It pays to be and think like a pack rat. :-)

Mowing the Freeway

It's freeway mowing time again! Yep, they were out there again riding the mowers and cutting down the tall grass on the freeway.
